    WEST SPOKANE – Hundreds of area residents lined up with flags and signs in hand behind the Freedom Convoy 2022 in parking lots along Aero Road to show support for the truckers heading to Washington D.C. in protest of COVID mandates.     CHENEY – Shari McMahan is the new president of Eastern Washington University. The board of trustees announced the news in a Feb. 24 press release. McMahan is the 27th president of the university and the second woman president in the institution’s history. McMahan was one of the four finalists out of 60 applicants. She is currently the provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University in San Bernardino.     SPOKANE - The Columbia (Burbank) boys basketball team entered this morning's fourth-place trophy game optimistic about its chances against the Colfax Bulldogs. But Colfax put on a scoring clinic posting 35 points more than the Coyotes to win the game for the state 2B fourth-place trophy.
