OLYMPIA – Wolves may be downgraded from an endangered species to “sensitive” under a proposed reclassification by state Department of Fish and Wildlife staff. WALLULA – The spring Chinook salmon fishing season is open for only a week between The Dalles Dam and Wallula Junction. From about 1,300 feet upstream of The Dalles Dam to the Orgon-Washington border, salmon may be retained from today, May 19, through May 26. There’s a daily limit of six Chinook, but only two may be kept, according to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. Salmon must be at least 12 inches long. LIND – Graduates of the former Lind High School gathered Saturday, May 6, to honor several classes as well as this year's local Lind-Ritzville graduating seniors. The Lind Alumni Association recognized the classes of 1993, 1983, 1973 and 1963 during the gala luncheon. Carson Shaver, of Lind, was also recognized.
