Pasco to purchase parcel for new fire station

Land will cost the city $255,000

PASCO – The City Council has approved of the purchase of 2.125 acres of land for development of a future fire station.

During a meeting Jan. 19, the council agreed to a purchase contract to spend $255,000 for the acreage at 3733 N. Capitol Ave. The property is owned by AutoZone Parts Inc.

Should the city inspections turn up conditions that are not acceptable, the city may terminate the contract.

The property is being purchased “as-is,” under the purchase contract. Upon closing, the city will release AutoZone from all responsibility associated with the parcel.

Pasco will put of $5,000 in earnest money for the purchase, according to the contract. First American Title Insurance Co. will hold the funds in escrow.

While awaiting closure, the city will be allowed to access the property to conduct reasonable surveys during ordinary business hours.
