MESA — A Kennewick truck driver was injured Wednesday, Sept. 15, in a crash resulting from a tire blowout.
Angel M. Lule, 27, was transported to a Pasco hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the 3:10 p.m. crash on U.S. Highway 395, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Lule was southbound on the highway in a 2007 Kenworth truck towing a trailer when a tire blew out near Milepost 45, the patrol said. The tractor-trailer left the roadway, hit a guardrail and overturned.
Lule was wearing a seatbelt; neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor, the patrol said.
Troopers noted the cause of the crash was due to "defective equipment."
