The Washington State Patrol identified the crash victims as Nayeli A. Esquivel-Castro, 19, of Tacoma; Uriel A. Gonzalez Pena, 18, of Kent; Ericka G. Young, 19, of Tacoma; Sonia J. Uribe, 58, of Moses Lake, and Jorge A. Uribe, 62, of Moses Lake.

The crash occurred at 5:08 p.m. at the intersection of state Highways 260 and 17, the patrol reported.

Equivel-Castro was westbound in a 2009 Honda Civic on Highway 260 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Sonia Uribe's northbound 2020 Jeep Cherokee, the patrol reported.

Esquivel-Castro and her passengers Pena and Young were transported to a Pasco hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries, the patrol reported. The Uribes were taken to an Othello hospital.

All of the crash victims were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said, noting neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor.
