OTHELLO - A local man is facing charges after allegedly lighting a trailer on fire Tuesday, Jan. 24, on South Danielle Road.
Petronilo Osorio-Mendoza, 35, of Othello, was booked into the Adams County Jail on a charge of first-degree arson and third-degree assault, records show.
His arrest occurred after deputies and firefighters responded to a 3:13 p.m. fire Jan. 24 in the 600 block of South Danielle Road.
Responders arriving on scene discovered a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in flames, records show. Firefighters put out the fire, but the trailer was destroyed.
During an investigation of the fire, deputies determined Osorio-Mendoza started the fire and then fled before responders arrived.
He was apprehended Jan. 24 and booked into the county jail.
Other details of the fire were not available before press time.
